Hi Marcus. Thank you for contacting us. You are very welcome to join us. Our next reunion will be in Greenville, TN July 14-17. Fill out the membership application on our website, and you will receive newsletters and information about our annual reunions where you can connect with other Odoms and see their family research that may help you find information you’re looking for concerning your family history.
You’re welcome to join in on the DNA project. That has helped a number of people in our organization see who they are related to in our group.
We look forward to meeting you. Hope you get to come to the reunion this year. Information will be coming soon about how to register for the NOA event in Tennessee.
I am researching my Odom line and trying to prove each generation. I am particularly interested in Wills, Family Bibles, etc. for any of the following:
1. Elijah Samuel Odom family (b: 17 Sep 1816 Emanuel or Laurens County, GA; d: abt 1870, Emanuel Co GA; married Rutha Goff on 29 Oct 1835, Laurens Co GA)
2. Archibald Odom family (b: 07 Sep 1796, Emanuel Co GA; d: 17 Aug 1873, Emanuel Co GA; married Isabella Elizabeth Anderson on 05 Jun 1821, Emanuel Co GA)
3. Proof of Archibald’s parents. Some say they are Archibald H. Odom and Mary Polly Clinch. Archibald: b: 17 Feb 1781, Marion Co SC; d: before 12 Dec 1815, Pulaski Co GA)
I have the partial family Bible records for Archibald Odom, Revolutionary Soldier, as per his online Revolutionary War Pension Application and Bounty-Land Warrant Application File, but would like to have a copy of the entire family Bible record if more exists.
Please note that the title page and copyright date page of any Bible must be included to prove the validity of the Bible record.
I completed an application online, but am not sure it submitted properly.
Thank you for sharing your questions. We have one person in the NOA who is related to Archibald, and one person who is related to Elijah Samuel.
I’ll make sure someone familiar with these family lines gets your message.
We have a NOA reunion in Amarillo, TX July 15th through 18th at the Holiday Inn Amarillo West Medical Center. The rooms are $109 per night which include breakfast at the restaurant.
